Before I moved to Guyana and established RED Entertainment with my partners, I grew up in sunny South Florida with the beach as my best friend. I’d like to believe my decor style could be attributed to my life near the ocean – bright and fresh! In the summer of 2011, I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Marketing at Florida International University (FIU). During my years at university, I worked as an Event Coordinator at Professional Catering Incorporated (PCI) in West Palm Beach, Miami and then with the American Marketing Association (AMA).

My educational and working experiences are obviously important, but are not nearly as impactful as my boundless energy and enthusiasm that I bring to every single event and project that we do! To have partners with complementary devotion and passion, we are capable of doing anything. We bring differing skillsets to the team, which enables successful executions but what we all have in common is the ability to make it happen even when limitations are particularly challenging. And I must say that I am equally proud of the fact that we help our clients make their vision a reality and celebrate in style. We are trendsetting and continue to develop new and exciting ideas within our events and marketing departments. Everyday is an adventure that I look forward to with our team!

In 2008, I graduated with an Associate Degree in Business Management at Miami Dade College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management at Florida International University (FIU) in 2012. While at University, I coordinated and worked with Sunny Anderson, a Food Network celebrity chef, at the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival in Miami, Florida. And I also worked in the restaurant industry as a bartender/server where I gained hands-on, practical experience in the industry. With these experiences, I was able to meet new faces from different cultures and backgrounds and now with RED Entertainment I still get to enjoy the diversity of clients we meet and build relationships with. This and so much more brings me joy and satisfaction with the work that we do.

I not only have a passion for food presentation but for design, décor and customer service. Together with our knowledge of resources and contacts, events are always designed and coordinated to the very last detail. No matter how caught up we get in executing an event, we always remember that we are lucky enough to be a part of an experience, albeit a wedding or product launch. It’s always in the details! The way we make people feel is extremely important to us. Personalizing a thank you card or entrance sign can make all the difference – more so when we note that a bride mentioned her favourite dessert and we ensure that on her wedding day she gets a chance to sit and enjoy it!

My past experiences and knowledge gained prior to the spontaneous beginning of our company continue to play a huge role every day as I work with our amazingly talented team! In 2012, I graduated with Honours, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environment & Society and Women & Gender Studies at University of Toronto (U of T) and a Masters Degree in Environmental Studies at York University in 2015. Regardless of my qualifications in fields that are somewhat non-related to RED Entertainment’s line of work, I had prior experience with event management for University seminars and conferences and for charitable organizations in Guyana.

Since we began in 2012, I definitely learned a great deal more! My role in the company continues to develop my organizational and logistical planning skills as the number of events and projects grow each month. The Georgetown Local Elections Debate was an event production that particularly tested my coordination abilities and I enjoyed every bit of it! Similarly, The Spotlight talent competition and Fundraising Telethon for Haiti were productions that demanded a multifaceted team such as ours. We created the advertising and marketing plans, coordinated several teams of people, and of course executed the productions on the day with live streaming on social media and TV! All of which made these events so successful. It is our dedication and commitment of going beyond our clients’ expectations and ensuring every event is executed smoothly that makes me so proud to be a part of this well oiled RED machine!

I joined the RED Team in February 2017 and so far it has truly been a learning and enhancing experience. I love being able to acquire new creative skills but I think what I love most about working with RED is the people I get to work with. Each of them brings something different to the table and there’s never a dull moment when we’re working. I have also enjoyed meeting new people especially the Art Glass-ers who always lighten up my Wednesdays. My hobbies include crafting, volunteering and baking while I binge watch TV shows.

I’ve had the pleasure of joining RED from the year of 2013 at just 16 years old. This company has pushed me to grow significantly by granting me the opportunity of experiencing what it is to have a multifaceted career. I love that we are diverse, but as one we complement each other. I am one of the more somber members of RED while being naturally creative / visual. I enjoy all things vintage and all things classic. I love reading, writing poetry and embracing moments of solitude. I am grateful to be a part of this family, for they have accepted me solely as I am while molding me into the person that I am destined to be.
